Do your children like to paint? Write? Create? Coming
in March will be a wonderful opportunity for our homeschooled children to showcase
their many talents!
The fair will be open to all homeschooling families
that live in the City of Irving and/or
those that are members of an Irving based Homeschool Group or the Coppell
Homescool Group. Pre-registration is required! Cost - $2.00 per person.. Homeschool Fair Participation and Olympic game
release forms are now available, so start signing up!
So that your children can get started, listed below
are the divisions available. Children can enter as many divisions as they would
like. Every entry will receive an award ribbon. Please note that a release form
will be required for children to participate in the Olympic Games.
Division Age
Groups:
Group 1 ages 5 and under
Group 2
ages 6, 7, 8
Group 3
ages 9, 10, 11, 12
Group 4 ages
13 and up
Please note: All
entries must have the childs full name and age on the back of each item.
Please limit entries only to those
projects made/completed during the 2009/10 homeschooling year.
Categories:
Photography any color
or B&W photo must be enlarged to 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 only- no frames
Fine Art: any original
watercolor, oils, charcoal, crayon size limit 12 x 16 no frames
Hobbies and Crafts: examples- woodwork, Legos, pottery, sculpting, models, etc.
Sewing: sewing, needlepoint, weaving, knitting
Baking: desserts
only no refrigerated items
Historical/Cultural/Geographical
Display: example maps, models, displays
Im Recyclable! Take
something old and make it into something new! Use any type of
recyclable material. Size max H-L-W

Writing: 3 categories
Original poetry all ages
25 to 250 word max
Essays Subject: If I Lived Beneath the Sea
Group 2 - 25 to 100 words Group 3 50 to 200 words Group 4 200 to 500 words
Short fictional stories any
appropriate subject:
Group 2- 50 to 200 words Group
3 300-1000 words Group 4 1000 to
2500 words
Science Projects
Projects can be from any
field of science (life, physical, earth, etc.)
Short written explanation of project is required.
**** The following items are NOT allowed in Science fair projects.

Hypodermic needles Material that explodes or
can catch fire
Drugs
Olympic Games: 25 yard
dash; sack race; tug of war; hula hoop; obstacle course; relay race (subject to change)
